What’s Happening in the Lab?

Standard

Lots of learning and fun has been happening in the Media Lab at Benchley-Weinberger. This week, the kindergartners designed jack-o-lanterns and then got to print them to take home. First and second graders have been having fun with digital storytelling. Third graders are working on their Microsoft Word document and should be done soon. They have learned how to edit in Word and also to find pictures to insert into their documents. Fourth graders have been learning about film making and have finished their storyboards and are ready to film their “practice” films, all to prepare for the iVIES!
Fifth graders are working on an Excel spreadsheet and graph. The upper grades have also been learning how to “code”. They loved it and we will do more as time permits.¬†Enjoy the photos!

Forever grateful to be in Room 6,
Ms. Kathy

Media Lab Opens!

Standard

Hi Everyone!

Classes have started to visit the Media Lab. I will post what we have been up to very soon. Meanwhile, please have your kiddos practice their typing skills. For grades 1-5, they can go to BBC Dance Mat Typing. It is one of the best sites for finger placement, etc. I will soon show the kinders a couple of sites they can use to practice.

Stay tuned for more updates!
Ms. Kathy and her Marvelous Media Lab students!
